Contest: Create a Clever Blogging T-Shirt

I’m blogging this t-shirtI have a shirt I love that says “I’m blogging this.” Every time I wear it, I get comments and have the opportunity to talk about how fantastic blogging is. It’s a fantastic ice-breaker and even works for those of us who are a little shy.

My only problem is this: I only have the one blogging shirt. I do not want to be known locally as “the girl who never changes her shirt” (that’s just not the attention I’m going for…). I did some searching, and while I found a few options, I mostly discovered there’s a sad shortage of clever t-shirts with which to proclaim my blogging obsession.

It’s time to remedy this situation, and what would be more fun than doing it with a contest?

The contest entry details

  • An entry consists of a blogging-related phrase or quote that’s suitable for printing on a t-shirt (crude language probably won’t make the cut). You do not have to actually design a shirt (though I suppose you could if you’re so inclined).
  • Anyone may enter (provided it’s legal where you are) and you may enter as many times as you like.
  • You may not submit an entry that’s already copyrighted (this almost certainly includes any existing t-shirt designs)—we don’t want to get in trouble for using it.
  • The contest will end July 13th, 2007.
  • Entries should be submitted using the form at the bottom of this post.
  • Judging will be done by the staff of Blogging Expertise (and in one case, by the readers of the blog), and we’ll be looking for creativity and the likelihood that someone will start a conversation based on the shirt.
  • By entering, you give us permission to print your entry should we so desire, regardless of whether or not you win.

Prizes

There’s a significant chance the winners will be printed and made available here on the blog—but fame and glory aren’t the only things you stand to win! These prizes have been graciously donated and I encourage you to visit the sponsors.

We also have several special prizes!

  • ColorSchemerMost Creative: This will be determined by a vote on the blog (watch for it on Monday, July 16), and the winner will receive a copy of the excellent Color Schemer Studio. I use this daily for blog designs and it’s on my “Top 5″ list of software I can’t live without. :) You can even download a 30-day free trial to check it out before buying (or you can just win it here!). To top it off, there are versions for both Mac and PC computers. (Provided by ColorSchemer.)
  • Blog MastermindWanna-be Blogger: I’ve already talked a bit about Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind program (and I’ll be talking about it a lot more in the near future!), and if you’ve been wanting to sign up but haven’t yet, you’re in luck! Any non-blogger who enters this contest is eligible for the prize of 3 months’ membership in the Blog Mastermind system. If you’re interested in this prize and haven’t done so already, I highly recommend you read Yaro’s free Blog Profits Blueprint ebook! Please note: you must state in your entry that you qualify and want to be considered for this prize. (Provided by Yaro Starak.)
  • Conversation Marketing | Portent InteractiveBusiness Blogger: If you’re currently blogging for your business, or serious about getting started as a business blogger, you’re definitely going to want to win this prize: 2 hours of consulting time with Ian Lurie of Portent Interactive (a $600 value!). Ian helps businesses of all sizes develop successful internet strategies, and he’ll apply his knowledge and experience to your blog. Please note: you must state in your entry that you qualify and want to be considered for this prize. (Provided by Ian Lurie/Portent Interactive.)

Now I know you want to win one of those prizes, so get entering below!

I can’t enter, Aksimet thinks my entries are spam. I wonder if I can comment.

I suck at coming up with stuff like that. I would totally enter if I didn’t. :) Good luck!

Entries have been submitted. By the way - is that a mind control device on your arm or what?

Anyway, since it would be more fun if we got to read other people’s entries, I’m including mine below:

Here are my entries:

“Congratulations! Your attitude just won you the starring role in today’s blog post!”

“I was going to be a journalist, but I had too much integrity. Now, I blog.”

“My blog is getting boring…Say something witty!”

“I don’t ramble. I blog.”

“I don’t tip. But I’ll be nice to you in my blog if the service is good!”

That’s about it for now. I’ll let you know if I come up with more!

I don’t know what you mean. It just arrived in the mail the other day with instructions from Yaro Starak to wear it 24/7…

Just kidding. It’s actually a “bodybugg,” a geeky diet gadget that I’m reviewing for my diet blog.

I’ll be posting the various entries in a poll for the “Most Creative” prize, but everyone is welcome to post them here as well (as long as you also enter them in the contest form).

Jenny, I believe everybody has at least one creative bone in their body. Some have two! Here’s something to get you started: take your favorite short punchline and insert “blog” into it somehow. You might be surprised.

Mind you, I don’t think ‘I’m blogging this’ can be much bettered (although some of the ones above made me chuckle).

This is genius idea to wear it on T-shirt! just today, I was thinking of printing namecards with catchy slogan to promote a blog (offline).

I can think of one
”Read me. Link me. Dig me”

I’m drawing some cartoons, and I’ll be thinking of some cartoons that can go with the above slogan. Sounds like lots of fun!
